FULL RENOVATION OF A PIED-À-TERRE IN LE MARAIS

Charley and Jenny, a Californian couple, wanted to treat themselves to a pied-à-terre in Paris for their getaways in France. They fell in love with Le Marais and the St Paul neighbourhood, close to Place des Vosges. They set their sights on a 60 m2 apartment to renovate.

As they were not on site, the aim was to support them from A to Z: space planning, bespoke joinery drawings, site supervision, purchasing and installation of the furniture.

The layout was redesigned to create a kitchen and dining area that integrate perfectly with the living room. The bathroom was enlarged and includes a new laundry area. Numerous bespoke storage solutions were added:

  • Bench and coat rack in the entrance hall.
  • Bookcase incorporating storage, TV, and an extended bench to add seating in the living room, with a sweeping view over St Paul church.
  • 100% bespoke kitchen with an island incorporating storage and a bookcase section. Very few wall units were used to keep this space light: shelves with invisible fixings were preferred.
  • Bedroom: a full-length run along the entire wall incorporates a dressing area, headboard with integrated bedside tables, and a desk.

In terms of ambience and decoration, elegance and French chic are the watchwords. The bedroom draws on the codes of hotel suites, and the kitchen floor is inspired by Parisian bistros.
