RENOVATION OF A SECOND HOME IN THE HEART OF THE PERCHE FOREST
In love with Paris, but looking for more space to spend their weekends and holidays with the family, Aglantine and Samuel set their sights on this house nestled in the heart of the Perche forest. A beautiful renovation will be necessary to make this Norman longhouse functional and pleasant for the whole family.
On the ground floor:
- The kitchen, bathroom, living room and master bedroom will be completely renovated
- The staircase will be repositioned to improve circulation and enlarge the living spaces.
- The radiators and water heater are connected so they can be controlled remotely. This system both saves energy when no one is there for several weeks, and ensures the house is at a comfortable temperature when the family arrives for the weekend.
On the first floor:
- The attic has been converted to create a 3rd bedroom with a bathroom. The authentic truss (roof frame structure) is left exposed to create a space full of charm
- Two office areas have been created to allow the parents to escape Paris and work remotely in peace whenever they wish
- A TV lounge with an additional sleeping area is created in the landing room to optimise this previously unused space
