DESIGN AND DECORATION OF A NEW DUPLEX IN SURESNES
Originally Parisians, Adeline and Matthieu needed more space with the arrival of their first daughter, Lise. They chose the peaceful residential suburb of Suresnes to build their new apartment, a spacious and bright 145m2 duplex.
Delivered new, with parquet flooring, tiles and white walls, the apartment truly lacked character and personality. The agency supported them in the design and decoration of the main rooms: the entrance, the living area and the bedrooms. The objective: to create a cozy and warm atmosphere while adding a touch of brilliance!
It was important that the entrance set the overall tone of the apartment. Just like the adjoining WC, we dressed it in a “Nubian Ochre” color, a bold terracotta that brightens the space while bringing a warm spirit. The slope of the staircase leading to the living area now features a small bench that incorporates a shoe rack as well as a wardrobe with rail and shelves, ideal for storing coats and accessories. On the decorative side, the mirror with organic lines adds depth to the space while echoing the rug.
In the living room, we chose the panoramic wallpaper “Péninsule” by Isidore Leroy, a sunny landscape, an ode to the Mediterranean. Visible from the entrance as you climb the stairs, it brings a soothing atmosphere to this urban duplex and invites travel. It creates a perspective that makes visitors want to go up to the first floor.
On the kitchen side, we painted the niche in the same Ochre as the entrance to bring energy to the space and maintain consistency between the ground floor and the first floor. The colorful seating energizes the combination of greige facades and oak woodwork, while the blown glass light fixtures bring softness and clarity to the project.
The hallway, which connects the entrance to the sleeping area, was painted with a dado to limit the feeling of length and bring maximum light. Adeline and Matthieu’s bedroom is now imbued with softness with its floral wallpaper applied to the upper part of the headboard and its beige paint, a slightly powdery “chalk” color. This shade is also found on the lower part of the wall and on the custom console with rounded lines. In Lise’s bedroom, the sleeping area was defined by paint zoning, ideal for creating a soothing atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
