Sophie Project
COMPLETE RENOVATION OF A 120m2 FAMILY APARTMENT
It was in the heart of the 15th arrondissement of Paris that the agency recently assisted Muriel and Philippe with the complete renovation of their apartment, located in a 1970s building.
Throughout the project, emphasis was placed on colours and custom-made joinery with the aim of offering the owners a home that is both aesthetic and functional.
The entrance sets the tone and general atmosphere with its deep blue stained joinery. Full-height wardrobes and a console with an integrated bench provide storage space and comfortable seating, ideal for taking off shoes. The rounded lines fluidify circulation towards the living room, while the oak battens enhance the feeling of ceiling height thanks to their verticality.
The centrepiece of the living room: a double-function bookcase that separates the dining room from the lounge. Shelves on the upper part and a linear row of cupboards on the lower part on one side, a TV unit topped with decorative shelves on the other. The ensemble is extended by a wooden screen that delineates the two spaces without partitioning them, allowing enjoyment of the light offered by the large bay windows.
The tour continues with the kitchen, which we opened up to the living area thanks to an oak screen, echoing the other joinery. Its bar with high chairs allows for family moments. Its U-shaped layout fluidifies circulation between the different stations (cooking, washing, refrigerator), while maximizing worktop space and storage. The blue paint echoes the entrance, and the tiling brings graphic appeal and modernity to the project.
Finally, the sleeping area comprises two bedrooms and their adjoining bathrooms. Philippe and Muriel’s bedroom was designed with a minimalist and cosy spirit. The double wardrobe at the foot of the bed is extended by a functional desk, clad in a textured wall covering echoing the headboard. Their bathroom is spacious and functional, incorporating the deep green of the bedroom.
Their daughter Sophie’s bedroom, as colourful as the rest of the project, features a dark purple headboard, extended by a tropical patterned wallpaper in the same shades for added softness. The linear wardrobe created by the bed offers generous volume for her clothes and games. Her bathroom, also adjoining, was designed as a colour box to offer her a feminine and intimate space.
